Sallyann Ridenour Dixon passed away on Aug. 6, 2016. Sallyann grew up in Peru, the only child of Julia and Oscar Ridenour. Although she cherished the many friends she came to know while living in other towns, her heart always remained in Peru. Her summer home of 60 years on Lake Maxinkuckee was also very dear to her. Sallyann attended Christian College in Columbia, Missouri and graduated with a bachelor degree in social work from Indiana University, Bloomington. She married Leora J. Porter in 1949 and together they had three daughters. Sadly, he died in a car accident in 1964. In 1967 she remarried (Paul Kiesling) and moved to Logansport where she lived for several years. After their divorce, she was briefly married to Bob Jones. She did not however, give up her beloved family home in Peru during this time. She returned to Peru and married James A. Dixon, formerly of Logansport. They were married 16 years. She lived there until moving to Greencastle in 2001. She was an avid (and very good) golfer, enjoyed painting, playing bridge, fishing and other water activities. She was a talented dancer as a child and even turned down an offer to study ballet in NVC. Sallyann had many friends wherever she lived and will be remembered for her great beauty and sense of humor. In addition to her parents and her first and fourth husbands, she was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Jo Dee. She is survived by daughters, Suzanne Roach, Greencastle (Tom) and Camille Singleton Wabash and granddaughters Lesley Fisher, Bloomington and Katie Singleton, Wabash. She is also survived by several Step-children and step-grandchildren. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Presbyterian Church, 102 W. Main Street, Peru, IN 46970. Visitation (Noon – 2:00 P.M.) and memorial service (2:00 P.M.) will be held at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 West Main street, Peru on Saturday, August 27, 2016.
