Sally B. Dean, formerly of Fairmount, passed away Sept. 27, 2016 at Colonial Oaks after a long illness. She is survived by her son, Jerry (Patricia) Abrams of Berea, Ky daughter, Penny Dean of Cicero, IN and daughter-in-law Diana Durham of Palos Verdes Estates, CA. Mrs. Dean is also survived by her three grandchildren, Jesse (Nenna) Abrams, Jamie (Ron) Kinmon, and Andrea Abrams, seven great-grandchildren, and sister Lucy Howard, Manchester, KY.  She was preceded in death by her husband Earl Dean, son Garry Abrams, sister Mildred Smith, and brothers Elihu Blair and Bill Blair.

Mrs. Dean was born October 12, 1928 in Clay County, KY to Joe and Reva (Hibbard) Blair. Sally graduated from Clay County High School and worked for several years at McAfee’s drugstore. For many years, Sally and Earl were greeters at College Wesleyan Church, where they faithfully attended, and also served on the funeral dinner committee. Mrs. Dean was also a devoted member of the Homesteaders Sunday school class until her illness.

Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main Street, Fairmount, Indiana are handling arrangements.  Services will follow at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be in Mrs. Dean’s name to the National Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
