Ryan L. Rody was born in Peru, IN on July 20, 1982, he was the son of Susan L. Huber Rody and Eric L. Rody. Ryan graduated from Peru High School in 2000. While in school, Ryan played basketball, golf, and tennis for the Peru Tigers. He was also a drummer in the school band. He was a gifted student who was extremely proud of the fact that he participated in the National Spelling Bee, in Washington, DC, as a 7th Grader. Ryan had the ability to excel in ANYTHING that he put his mind to. Ryan’s passion was music. Throughout the years he was a member of several bands and was a phenomenal drummer, songwriter, and vocalist. His lifelong dream was to be a famous ROCK STAR.! He served in the United States Air Force from 2003-2006 and his Military Declarations include the National Defense Service Medal and the Global War on Terrorism Service Medal. He also attended IU in Bloomington and Indianapolis. Survivors include his mother Susan Huber Rody, Peru, IN, his father Eric Rody, his step-mother Mary Anne Sloan-Rody, his step-sister Emma Sloan of Lafayette, IN; his uncle Bob Huber (Denise), Peru, IN, his uncle Thomas Rody (Deborah) Virginia Beach, VA, aunt Joanne Rody Werling, Kokomo, IN; his cousins Jayna Huber, Haley Robertson, and Leigh Werling. Ryan was preceded in death by his sister Christine M. Rody, Maternal grandparents Chase and Sandra Huber and Paternal grandparents Joseph and Marianne Rody. A Service Celebrating the life of Ryan Rody will be held at 2:00 PM, Tuesday, May 16, 2017 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Chaplain Virgil Barker officiating. Burial will be at Mt. Hope Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00 PM Monday, May 15, 2017 at the Eikenberry-Eddy funeral home. In lieu of flowers donations may be made through the funeral home to the National Suicide Prevention Lifeline or the American Diabetes Association.
