Ruth A. Coss, 92, Marion, died at Miller’s Merry Manor at 10 a.m. on Sunday, June 11, 2017. She was born in Haledon, New Jersey, to John and Clara (Hoelscher) Claude. Ruth married Rudy Kellmann on August 29, 1943, in Paterson, New Jersey. He was killed in action in Brest, France, on August 26, 1944, while defending his country. She then married Richard Coss in April of 1946 in Indianapolis, and he preceded her in death in November of 1991.
Before moving to Indiana in 1946, Ruth was a secretary for Interchemical Corp. of New York. She retired from the personnel department of Fisher Body in 1982. She was a member of First United Methodist and attended Grace Community Church, both in Marion.
She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Betsy Coss, Marion; grandchildren, Adam Coss, Sarah (Tony) Setzer, and Dillon (Abby) Coss; great-grandchildren, Will and Joe Setzer, and Kenzie, Kadence, and Kamryn Coss.
In addition to her parents and two husbands, she was preceded in death by her son, Damon Coss.
The family will have a graveside service at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 16, 2017, at Grant Memorial Park with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
