Russell “Raymond” Resler

Russell “Raymond” Resler, 92, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 8:20 am, Wednesday, March 14, 2018 at Wellbrooke of Wabash. He was born December 22, 1925 in Miami County, Indiana to Omer and Gladys (Stout) Resler.

Raymond was a 1943 graduate of Converse High School. He proudly served his country during WWII, by joining the US Navy, and was stationed at Pearl Harbor. He received the Victory Medal, the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal, and the American Area Campaign Medal. He grew up in Miami County, lived in Indianapolis 40 years, and moved to Wabash in 1988. Raymond retired from Stokley Foods in Indianapolis, where he worked as an accountant. He enjoyed bowling and traveling.

He is survived by nieces and nephews, Karen Stouffer of Wabash, Kay (Dick) Alexander of Vonore, Tennessee, Susie Resler of Marion, Indiana, Larry (Carol) Stouffer of Wabash, Dan (Sandy) Odum of Noblesville, Indiana, and John (Diana) Odum of Louden, Tennessee, four great-nieces, one great-nephew, three great-great-nephews, and one great-great-niece. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, Earl and Leroy “Bud” Resler, two sisters, Louise Stouffer, and Ann Odum, nephew, Rex Resler, and his special friend, Meredith Speicher.

Funeral services will be 11:00 am Saturday, March 17, 2018 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Dr. Ted Batson officiating. Burial will be in Mississinewa Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 10-11 am Saturday, at the funeral home.
