Rose Ann Johnson, 74, Marion, died at 5:50 a.m. on Sunday, August 21, 2016, at Colonial Oaks Health Care Center. She was born in Fairmount, Indiana, to the late Gola and Alice (Williams) Butcher. She married Billy Johnson on April 13, 1959, and he preceded her in death on April 14, 2012.

Rose was a homemaker. She enjoyed being outdoors fishing, camping, going to the beach in Florida, flower gardening, and raising tomatoes. She also enjoyed going to casinos, playing slot machines, and scratching lottery tickets. Rose loved cooking and baking and took great enjoyment in cooking for Christmas and Thanksgiving dinners. She loved her family and was very proud of all her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Brian (Tammy) Johnson, O’Fallon, Illinois, and Laurie (Jeffrey) Alderson, Marion; grandchildren, Brooke (Martin) McDermit, Gas City, Amy (Ryan) Martin, Paducah, Kentucky, Emily (Michael) Clark, Stevenson Ranch, California, Ryan Johnson, Revere, Massachusetts, and Tyler (Abigail) Hewitt, Marion; great-grandchildren, Jacob McDermit and Brayden Martin; step-great-grandchildren, Joe Martin and Luke Martin; and siblings, Phillip (Joan) Butcher, Fairmount, James (Marietta) Butcher, Fairmount, and Katie Combs, Marion.

In addition to her husband and parents, Rose was preceded in death by her son, William Johnson, and siblings, Bernard Butcher, Fred Butcher, Addie Oswalt, Bertha Elsworth, Donald Butcher, and Joseph Butcher.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, August 23, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, August 24, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
