Ronald Eugene Malcom, 87, Marion, died at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 11, 2017, in Wesleyan Health Care, Marion. He was born in Marion, Indiana on March 26, 1930, to the late Lloyd and Sarah (Boxell) Malcom and married Carol Shanks on January 13, 1952. She survives.

Ronald was a US Navy veteran. He was employed as supervisor of housekeeping with the Marion VA Hospital and served on the Marion City Police Dept. for 13 years. Ronald was a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. Above all else, Ronald loved being with his family and spending time with his grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Ronald is survived by his children, Nan (Gary) Turner, Jonesboro and Tracy (Dana Suell) Malcom, Louisville, Kentucky; grandchildren, Jessica (Lee) Evans, Jordan (Sanne) Turner, Riley (Heather) Turner, Kyle (Kyleigh Shonk) Turner and Cody Malcom; great-grandchildren, Knox Evans, Aubri Shonk, Maeleigh Turner, Beau Turner and Henry Turner; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Ronald was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Phyllis Evans and Delores Horn.

The family will receive visitors from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, August 14, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Avenue, Marion, IN.

A funeral service for Ronald will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, August 15, 2017, at the funeral home with Chaplain Don Miller and Pastor Jim Neal officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Marion.
