Roger DeWayne Velasquez, 67, died in his Jonesboro home at 10:20 a.m. on Tuesday, August 9, 2016. He was born in Marion to Frank and Helen (Nelson) Velasquez. Roger married Martha Small on November 14, 1969, and she survives.
Roger enjoyed working on cars, was an avid WWE fan, and liked skulls. Most of all, he loved spending time with his grandkids.
In addition to his wife of 46 years, Roger leaves behind his three children, Nancy (James) Harris, Sherri (Michael Miller) Galbraith, and Justin (Melissa Fansler) Velasquez, all from Jonesboro; two grandchildren, Destiny and Dawn Harris; brother, Frank Velasquez; sister, Judy (Ronnie) Shuck; six half-siblings; and his special friend and companion for the past nine years—his dog, Shadow.
Preceding him in death were his parents, Frank Velasquez and Helen (Nelson) Timmons.
Cremation will take place with private services at a later date.
