Robert “Sid” Cover, 72, Denver, Indiana, passed away at 2:38 a.m. on Thursday, August 17, 2017, at Wellbrooke of Wabash, Indiana.

Born October 22, 1944, in Miami County, Indiana, he was the son of Charles Robert “Peanut” and Joan Louise Cover.  On October 24, 1965, at the Main Street United Methodist Church, in Peru, Indiana, he was married to the former Pamela Marie Schmidt, and she survives.

Sid was a retired truck driver, having driven for Elvin Murphy, Denver, Indiana, Murphy Trucking, Peru, Indiana, and  Ringle Express of Moline, Illinois.  He loved being outdoors, spending a great amount of time fishing, camping, and mowing.  For many years, along with a grandson, he took care of the grounds at the Chili Community Cemetery and Westlawn Cemetery, Denver.  He loved working in his garage, bowling, and watching his favorite sports: IU Basketball, Chicago Cubs Baseball, NASCAR (especially watching Jeff Gordon), and John Force Drag Racing.

He is survived by his wife, Pam Cover, Denver; mother Joan Cover, Denver; three daughters, Tina (Phillip) Berry, San Antonio; Stacy (Cy, Jr.) Howell, Denver; Cassie Cover and companion Chris, Kokomo; and Mitch (Jerri) Cover, Mentone; twelve grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, five step-grandchildren, and six step great-grandchildren; two sisters, Nancy Cover-Fields, Denver; and Ellen (Jim) Cofer, Alabama; mother-in-law, Beulah (Cleo) Haynes, Plainfield; and sister-in-law, Cindy Click and companion Phil, Denver .

He was preceded in death by one half-brother, Jack Cover, and half-sister, Betty Joann Cover.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, August 22, 2017, at McClain Funeral Home, Denver, Indiana with Chaplain Herb Hughs officiating.

Visitation will be from 4-8:00p.m. on Monday, August 21, 2017, at the funeral home.
