Robert “Rob” T. Brookshire, 59, Marion, was taken from this life into glory on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at home surrounded by his family after a one-month battle with lung cancer. He was born in Marion, Indiana, to Robert L. Brookshire and Virginia “Jenny” (Flynn) Brookshire.

Rob was a 1975 graduate of Marion High School. He worked as a General Trades Technician at Indiana Wesleyan University since 2003. He was a third-generation automobile upholsterer, known for his excellent craftsmanship, especially with classic cars.

Rob was a part of Marion Reformed Presbyterian Church and loved sharing his faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. He faithfully and sacrificially provided for his wife and daughters and loved to spend time with them and support them. He was a kind and gentle man with a servant’s heart, was a hard worker, and was always helping others. Rob also loved to mentor younger men, sharing with them the importance of serving and loving their families well. He enjoyed studying God’s Word, dogs, and camping. His passion for hospitality, discipleship, home education, and proclaiming Christ above all will long be remembered. For him, to live was Christ and to die was gain.

He will be greatly missed by his beloved wife of 33 years, Robin (Harmon); daughters, Breezy and Emily Rose; his father, Robert L. (Donna) Brookshire; step-father, Phil (Jean) Hoefer; brother, Randy (Wendy) Brookshire, Gas City; step-brother, Sid (Andrea) Dunn, Fairmount; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Virginia “Jenny” Hoefer, and step-sister, Paula Johnson.

The family will receive visitors from 2:00-6:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 25, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, September 26, 2016, at Brookhaven Wesleyan Church, 2960 E. 38th St., Marion, IN, with Pastor Jason Camery officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
