Robert J. Hill, 92, died Thursday, July 21, 2016 at his Fairmount, Indiana residence.
Robert was born in Tipton County, Indiana on February 13, 1924 to the late Alonzo Ellsworth Hill and the late Cleo Davis Hill. He was a 1943 graduate of Fairmount High School. Robert served in the Navy during WWII in the South Pacific and was again called to serve his country during the Korean War. He married Patsy Davis on September 11, 1950 at the Elwood Methodist Church. Patsy preceded him in death in December 1, 2006. Robert retired from AEP after 34 years of service where he worked in the substation department.
Robert is survived by sons; Terry Lee (Lisa) Hill, Fairmount and Robert F. (Sharon), Wabash, IN. Daughter, Cheri Patton, Marion, five Grandchildren and ten great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by sisters, Ruby Mae Hill and Wanda J. Stater, daughter-in-law, Peggy Sue Hill, and grandson, Joshua Hill.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the Fairmount Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 415 S. Main, Fairmount, Indiana. There will be a graveside service with military rites for Robert at Knox Chapel Cemetery on Thursday, July 28, 2016 at 10 AM with Leo Moore officiating.
Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warrior or American Legion Post 95 Jonesboro in care of the funeral home.
