After a 12-year battle with cancer, Robert “Bob” L. Weaver, 52, Huntington, died at 5:57 p.m. on Monday, July 24, 2017, at Visiting Nurse and Hospice Home. He was born in Marion to Glen L. Weaver and Sandra (Bennett) Carter.

Bob was a 1983 graduate of Marion High School, and he received his Associate’s and Bachelor’s degrees from Indiana Institute of Technology. He worked at Hayes/Western Wheels and was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Matthews.

When he was a young boy, Bob received a “Lemon Peeler” bicycle which he rode until the wheels fell off. He dearly loved that bike. Bob fell in love with Z71 Blue Chevy Silverado trucks, and he had a boat to match. Bob enjoyed anything that had to do with the outdoors. He loved hunting, and he went fishing anywhere there was water. Bob was also part of Team HOPE. Above all, Bob loved his family, children, and grandchildren, and his Cocker Spaniel.

He is survived by his daughters, Sasha Morris, Fort Wayne, and Kelsy Weaver, Marion; step-daughter, Jessica (Scott) Smith, Huntington; step-son, James (Haley) Garwood, Huntington; step-sisters, Carie Santana, Fort Wayne, Kelly Ramsey, Kokomo, and Robin Rose, Marion; 10 grandchildren; mother, Sandra (Gary) Carter, Fairmount; father, Glen (Faith) Weaver, Marion; wife/companion, Teresa (Ashbaugh) Weaver; and his dog/companion, Peyton.

Preceding Bob in death were his maternal grandparents, James Bennett and Lydia Hamilton, and paternal grandparents, Theodore Weaver and Phelena Weaver.

Visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. with Bob’s funeral service beginning at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, July 28, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. Pastor Jan Bunch will be officiating with burial following at Matthews Cemetery.
