Robert “Bob” L. Harvey, 71, Marion, died at 11:38 p.m. on Tuesday, September 13, 2016, at Rolling Meadows Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born in Marion, Indiana, to the late Milton and Pauline (Dunham) Harvey. He married Diana Runyon on September 4, 1971, and she survives.

Bob was raised in Swayzee, Indiana, and was a 1963 graduate of Swayzee High School. He worked as a Machinist for RCA/Thomson Consumer Electronics for 40 years. In his teenage years, Bob also worked as a farmer. He was a United States Navy veteran and served on the U.S.S. Saratoga in the Mediterranean Sea. He was a Railroading enthusiast, and also enjoyed fly fishing and sports. Bob was an avid Colts, Pacers, Bruins, and Redskins fan. He loved music, especially Gospel, and played the accordion as a teen. Bob loved to make others laugh. He was a loving dad and very patriotic. He loved spending time with his family, especially on the holidays. Bob was a member of First Christian Church in Marion.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Diana; children, Scott and Jenny Harvey, both from Marion; father-in-law, Richard R. Runyon, and mother-in-law, Lois I. Runyon, both from Marion; siblings, Beverly Hudson, Marion, William (Linda) Harvey, Georgia, Rebecca (late Harris) Earhart, Georgia, and Bruce (Judi) Harvey, Jonesboro; brother-in-law, Richard A. (late Debbie) Runyon, Florida; sister-in-law, Linda (Lonnie) Headley, Marion; several nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends; and his dog, Scraffey.

Visitation will be from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, September 18, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Monday, September 19, 2016, at the funeral home with Rev. Roslyn Harrison and Rev. Noble Allen Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory.
