Robert A. Hartle, 76, of Huntington, IN, passed away on Sunday, September 3, 2017, at 12:55 a.m. at the Tipton Place, Huntington, IN.
Mr. Hartle was born on August 29, 1941, in Huntington, IN, to W. Harry and Roberta (Young) Hartle. His parents preceded him in death. Robert married Sallie J. McDaniel on March 29, 1975 and she preceded him in death on August 8, 2014.
Mr. Hartle graduated from Huntington Township High School in 1959. Mr. Hartle was employed as an announcer for WHLT radio in Huntington and WBCH radio in Charlotte, MI. He later owned and operated Hartle’s Lawn and Garden Sales, and Hartle Trucking. He was a member of New Hope United Brethren Church, Huntington and a former member of Huntington Jaycees, Kiwanis Club, Young Republicans and Past Civil Defense Corp.
Robert is survived by two sons, Douglas Allen (Dawn) Hartle, Fort Wayne, IN, David Daniel (Stacy) Miller, New Albany, IN; two daughters, Barbara Lynn (Lisa Brown) Jones, Ann Marie (Troy) Smart, both of Huntington, IN; one brother, Bryan William (Sandy) Hartle; one sister, Carole June (Al) Baker-Hohl, both of Huntington, IN; 7 grandchildren, Austin Hartle, Abbie Hartle, Josh Smart, Megan Smith, Emily Jones, Drake Miller, Morgan Miller; and one great grandson, Henry Whitacre.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at New Hope United Brethren Church, 2001 Engle Street, Huntington, IN.
A Memorial Service will be held following the calling hours at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 16, 2017, at New Hope United Brethren Church, 2001 Engle Street, Huntington, IN 46750.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
