Rita M. Morrisett, 78, Gas City, died at 7:06 a.m. on Wednesday, May 24, 2017, at Twin City Healthcare. She was born in Marion and the daughter of the late Leroy and Anna Mae (Oden) Brodt.
Rita attended Mississinewa High School and worked as a waitress throughout her life. She enjoyed playing Bingo, shopping, going out to eat, and attending church. Rita also loved listening to music and was a big Elvis fan. She had a huge collection of records. Above all, Rita loved spending time with her family and friends.
Survivors include her son, Robert (Kimberly) Morrisett, Kokomo; sisters, Brenda (Harry) Reid and Wanda Reismiller; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son, David Brodt; brothers, Richard and Darrell Brodt; sister, Norma Jean Sachse; and nephew, Ronnie Lawson.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 12 noon on Tuesday, May 30, 2017, at Grant Memorial Park Mausoleum Chapel, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN. Services for Rita will begin at 12 noon with burial following.
