Mrs. Hamilton was born on April 7, 1926, in Huntington, IN, to John H. and Agnes (Miller) Reust. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Hamilton married William A. Hamilton on February 12, 1949 at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN. Her husband preceded her in death on January 9, 1997.
Rita retired in 1988 after 20 years as a laborer for Memcor. She was a member of SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Huntington, IN and a member of the Rosary Sodality.
Survivors include three sons, Richard (Rebecca) Hamilton of Arlington, VA, James (Carol) Hamilton of Carmel, IN, David (Jill) Hamilton of Huntington, IN; one daughter, Barbara (Thomas) Miller of Plattsmouth, NE; one sister, Mary Bushee of Huntington, IN; 8 grandchildren; and 3 great grandchildren.
Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Robert Reust, Alfred Reust; and two sisters, Anna J. Reust and Juanita Weaver.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, April 4, 2016, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at McElhaney-Hart Funeral Home, 715 N. Jefferson St., Huntington, IN with recitation of the Rosary at 6:00 p.m.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, April 5, 2016, at 10:00 am at SS Peter & Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry Street, Huntington, IN with Fr. Ron Rieder, OFM Cap officiating.
Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Huntington, IN.
