Richard W. Zoda, 72, of rural Van Buren, IN, passed away on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Heritage Pointe in Warren, IN.  He was born on Tuesday, January 25, 1944, in Jackson Twp., IN to Marvin J. “Bud” & Wilma (Thompson) Zoda.  He married Mary Ann O’Banion on Sunday, April 18, 1971 in the Applegate Chapel at Heritage Pointe in Warren.  Richard started working for the state highway department (INDOT) in 1967; he worked for INDOT most of his life. Following in his father’s footsteps, Richard took an early interest in farming and auto repair. He enjoyed working on his family’s farm and living the simple country life. He was a member of the Van Buren Conservation Club and met on Tuesday nights to play cards with the guys. Most mornings you could find him at the McNatt Store drinking coffee with his buddies. Richard liked to go to the Van Buren Tractor Pulls, hunting, and being outdoors. He was an easy going, laid back guy, who everyone loved.

Loving survivors include: Wife – Mary Ann (O’Banion) Zoda, Van Buren, IN (now Heritage Pointe), Son – Steven Wayne (Fiance, Sandra Sharp) Zoda, Hartford City, IN, Son – Robert Earl Zoda, Van Buren, IN, Brother – Jerry (Mary Jo) Zoda, Jackson Twp. Wells Co., IN, Brother – Tim (Pam) Zoda, Richmond, IN, Sister – Cathy (Mike) Wright, Jackson Twp., Wells Co., IN, Grandson – Cory Michael (Leslie) Zoda, Marion, IN and Grandson – Mack Austin Zoda, 82nd Airborne, Fort Bragg, NC. He was preceded in death by his parents.

Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren on Wednesday, November 2, 2016 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM.
A service to celebrate Richard’s life will be at Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home at 11:00 AM on Thursday, November 3, 2016; viewing will be held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Dick Case will be officiating and interment will follow in the Van Buren Cemetery in Van Buren, IN.

Arrangements are being handled by Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home in Warren.
