Richard D. “Richie” Sherman III, 34, of Wabash, Indiana, died at 10:30 am, Saturday, January 28, 2017 at his home. He was born September 30, 1982 in Marion, Indiana to Richard D. Sherman Jr., and Rebecca (Foudray) Hyden.
Richie was a 2002 graduate of Northfield High School, and a US Navy veteran. He coached his children’s baseball teams at the Field of Dreams, and also umpired. He enjoyed playing all sports and listening to music.
He is survived by his mother and step-father, Rebecca & James Hyden of Wabash, father, Richard D. Sherman Jr. of Marion; three children, Keegan Sherman, Jordyn Sherman, and Jaxon Stratton, all of Silver Lake, Indiana, siblings, James Foudray of Wabash, Ashley Foudray of Marion, and Eric Foudray of Wabash; step sister, Alexis Hyden of Wabash, grandparents, Joyce & Junior Foudray of Marion, and Richard “Dick” Sherman, Sr. of Marion; and his step father, Jerry “Mike” Poole of Huntington, Indiana.
Funeral services will be 11:00 am Friday, February 3, 2017 at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Tyler Leland officiating. Burial will be in Grant Memorial Park, Marion. Friends may call 9:30 – 11:00 am Friday, at the funeral home.
Preferred memorial is the family of Richie Sherman III.
