Richard D. Poffenberger 60, of Huntington passed away at his home at 2:09 a.m. on Saturday May 27, 2017. Richard worked as manufacturing associate at United Technologies for several years. He was an avid race fan and a former competitor at Bearfield Raceway. Richard enjoyed fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was the pillar of his family.
Richard was born on June 7, 1956 a son of Donald and Carol (Boger) Poffenberger. His parents preceded him in death. .
Survivors include his fiancé: Julie Coffman of Huntington; three sons: Ian Davis of Fort Wayne, Shawn (Rachel) Poffenberger of Fort Wayne, and Kyle (Ashley) Poffenberger of Huntington; a daughter: Jenni Poffenberger of Chicago; a brother: Kim (Deb) Poffenberger of Albian Indiana; and three grandchildren: Jarrod Brincefield of Fort Wayne, Ashlynn Poffenberger of Fort Wayne, and Ethan Poffenberger of Fort Wayne.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 from 6:00pm to 7:00pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel, 2901 Guilford Street, Huntington, Indiana.
A Memorial Service will be held on Wednesday May 31, 2017 at 7:00pm following the visitation at the funeral home.
