Richard A. “Dick” Homier

Richard A. “Dick” Homier, age 88, of Huntington, passed away Thursday November 23, 2017 at 1:11 pm at Norwood Health and Rehabilitation, Huntington.  He served in the US Army in the Korean War and retired from Yellow Freight Systems.  He was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church. He was a square dance caller, an amateur magician, and loved horses.

 

Richard was born April 14, 1929, in Huntington, the son of Leo J. and Lena (Schenkel) Homier.  He married his beloved wife Anna J. Mygrant at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Huntington and she survives in Huntington.  Also surviving are a son Jay A. (Darlene) Homier, 6 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, 7 great-great-grandchildren, and two sisters Treasa Lewis of Bear Lake and Rita Whisenhunt of Huntington.  He was preceded in death by 2 brothers Charles Homier and Emmet Homier and sisters Mary Covey, Sarah Covey, Edna Jeffries and Mildred Shenefelt.

 

Visitation will be held Tuesday, November 28 from 11 am to 1 pm at Deal-Rice Funeral Home- Huntington Chapel, preceding the 1:00 pm funeral service at the funeral home with Father Stephen Colchin officiating.  Burial will follow in Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
