Reverend Aster Jent entered into eternal peace on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at his home. Aster was born in Blackey, Kentucky on March 23, 1941 to Rosie Sparks & Gardner Jent, both whom are deceased.
On September 2, 1961 he married Wilma Maloney. They spent 50+ years together. She preceded him in death on March 11, 2012. Aster has 3 sisters and 1 half-brother: Beaulah Faye Roper, Janet Johnson, Lois Fields. All of which preceded him in death. He is survived by his half-brother Junior Jent.
Aster is survived by his 5 children: 1 son, Ricky Jent (Peru, IN) & 4 daughters, Melisa Jent (Peru, IN), Melinda Campbell (Goodlettsville TN), Amanda Jent (Goodlettsville TN) & Alisha Jent (Peru IN). Aster was blessed with 7 grandchildren: Patrick Gallahan, Travis Sopher, Kayla Coleman, Dereck Sopher, Shane Clemons, Amber Bowder, Brianna Rogers, Logan Rogers, & Isabella Rogers.
He also has many great grandchildren that loved him dearly: Kasen Gallahan, Dillon Gallahan, Dayton Gallahan, James Sopher, Blaine Sopher, Lily Sopher, Damien Coleman, Chloe Coleman, Zoey Coleman, Isaiah Coleman, Callie Clemons, & Celeste Clemons.
Funeral services will be held at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru, Indiana. Viewing services are scheduled Saturday, January 20, 2018 from 9am – 11am. The funeral service will begin at 11am, January 20, 2018, with Pastor Rod Correll officiating. Burial will follow at Mount Hope Cemetery, Peru, Indiana.
