Rev. Mr. Carl R. Lemna

The Rev. Mr. Carl R. Lemna of North Manchester passed away on Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Timbercrest Healthcare. He was born on August 16, 1930 in Nappanee, IN to Frank and Virdie Lemna. Carl retired in 1992 after 40 years as a Pastor in the United Methodist Church.  He served pastorates in Peru, Elkhart, Dunlap, West Lafayette, South Bend and North Manchester, Indiana. He spent 6 years on the EUB Board of Missions and 12 years on the United Methodist Board of Ordained Ministry of Northern Indiana. He graduated from Nappanee H.S. in 1948, North Central College in Naperville, IL in 1952, and Garrett Evangelical Theological Seminary in 1956, and took additional theology schooling from DePauw University, Georgetown College, McCormick Seminary, Princeton University, and Union Theological Seminary. Carl is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Lois, children Bruce (Ann) of Noblesville (children -Laura, Andrew, Joseph), Gary (Rebecca) of Wheaton, IL (children – Alex, Rachael, Ruth), Kathleen (Fred) Kreamelmeyer of Muncie (children – Lexi, London), and Jeffrey (Rebecca) of La Grange, IL, (children – Makenzie, Connor).  He is also survived by sister Lois Cook (Ross) and Janet Templeton (Dennis) both of Nappanee, as well as by sister-in-law Pati Lemna, Muncie. He was preceded in death by a sister, Alice Mae and a brother, Owen. He was a lifelong fan of the Chicago Cubs and the Purdue Boilermakers. In retirement, Carl and Lois enjoyed regular travel, along with winters in Florida.  He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather, who spent as much time with his family as possible. Family and friends may call Saturday, February 25, 2017 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Services will be Sunday, February 26, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 East Second Street, North Manchester, IN. Calling also one hour prior to service at the church.  Pastor Larry Ray and Pastor Mark Eastway will officiate.  Burial will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester, IN.  Memorials may be made to the North Manchester United Methodist Church, 306 E.
