Rev. Franklin Junior Strine

Rev. Franklin Junior Strine, 91 of Huntington went to be with his maker at 10:30 am on Thursday, September 29, 2016 at Parkview Huntington Hospital. Franklin served in WWII in New Guinea and Australia. He pastored churches in Coldwater, MI., Camden, MI., and Montgomery, MI… retiring in 1986. He was a member of United Brethren Retired Ministers and Union Church in Huntington.

Franklin was born on March 23, 1925 in Goshen, Indiana, the son of Benjamin and Helen (Ratliff) Strine.

He was united in marriage to Phyllis Fredrick on March 25, 1951. His wife survives.

Additional survivors include: two sons: Rev. Devon (Kathy) Strine; Dr. Bruce (Paulette) Strine; two daughters: Madelynn (Britt) Grubbs and Donalyn Strine. A foster son: Jose Oyervediz, Jr.; nine grandchildren and 22 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five sisters: Dorothy Chiddester, Bonnie Hutcheson, Martha Criss, Frances Kiel, Betty Nemeth and a brother: Richard Ray Strine.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 2:00 pm with one hour of visitation prior to the service at Union Church, 3688 E. 400 N., Huntington, Indiana.
