Ressie J. Hosler, 96 of Huntington passed away at 5:10 pm on Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Miller’s Merry Manor. Ressie was a 1939 graduate of Columbia City High School. She was a homemaker. Ressie was a member of the Eastern Star Huntington Chapter, American Legion Auxiliary Post 85, Women of the Moose Lodge 837 and played in the Euchre Club since 1941. She loved playing golf, fishing, playing bingo and being outdoors. Ressie was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She was born on March 22, 1921 in Columbia City, the daughter of Heber A. and Luella (Benedict) Cleland.
She was united in marriage to John D. Hosler on July 19, 1941 in Columbia City. He preceded her in death in June of 1995.
Survivors include two sons: Roger (Wanda) Hosler of Huntington; David (Lavon) Hosler of Huntington; a daughter: Jane (Jay) Leist of Huntington; 12 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren and several great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Heber and Luella Cleland, a son: Dennis J. Hosler and two brothers: Dale H. Cleland and Clark C. Cleland.
There will be no visitation or funeral service.
