Randall E. “Randy” Rupert, age 59, of Huntington, passed away Saturday, October 7, 2017 at 10:50 pm at his home. In his earlier years he worked with HK Porter and Majestic; later he drove for Hiner Transport and Trans Corr. Then he became an owner-operator and was leased on with T- Brothers Trucking. A highlight for him was a mission trip to Haiti.
Randy was born October 15, 1957, in South Whitley, the son of William “Bill” and Mary (Pickert) Rupert. He married his beloved wife Sandra “Sandie” Hasty in Roanoke and she survives in Huntington. Also surviving are a daughter Robin (Tim) Lee of Huntington, a son Cory McClure-Rupert of Roanoke, 8 grandchildren Aries, Malachi, Azariah, Dalton, Lane, Brandon, Kari, Kasey, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 brothers Thomas “Tom” Rupert of Huntington and Phillip “Mike” (Elaina) Rupert of Bloomington, and 2 sisters Sandy (Kelly) Holland of Fort Wayne and Laura Buchanan of Portage, Michigan, and mother-in-law Daisy Hasty of Huntington. He was preceded in death by an infant grandson Steven, a brother Dennis “Denny” Rupert, a daughter-in-law Virginia McClure-Rupert, father-in-law Lloyd Hasty and brother-in-law Terry Hasty.
Visitation will be held Thursday, October 12 from 12-2 pm at Deal-Rice Funeral Home-Huntington Chapel preceding the 2;30 pm graveside service at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County.
