Ralph “Sonny” James, 77, North Manchester, IN died at 12:43p.m. Saturday, March 18, 2017 at the Visiting Nurse Hospice Home, Fort Wayne, IN. He was born August 26, 1939 in Hornersville, MO to Jesse and Mittie (Williams) James, both deceased. Sonny was employed from 1970-1985 with Sunoco Paper Products, Akron, IN. He retired from Land Air Trucking, Akron, IN after 20 years. Sonny served in the U.S. Army from 1961-1964. He was a member of the Isaac Walton League, North Manchester. On July 19, 1969 Sonny married Sally Conrad. She survives. He is also also survived by two daughters: Sonja James, Fort Wayne, IN and Heather (Denny) Schannep, North Manchester. Two grandchildren: Jake Schannep and Hadley Schannep. One brother: Mike (Penny) James, Hornersville, MO. Five sisters: Geneva (Howard) Perry, Grand Rapids, MI / Berniece Johnson, Walls, MS / Diane Whitney, St. Louis, MO / Sue (Jack) Renyolds, Foristeel, MO / Alice Renyolds, St. Louis, MO. Friends may call from 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday, March 21 at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN 46962. Graveside services will be in Oaklawn Cemetery, North Manchester at a later date with Pastor Chad McAttee officiating.
