Ralph Owen Eltzroth, 88, a lifetime resident of Warren, IN, passed away at 7:51 AM on Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at Heritage Pointe in Warren. He was born on Saturday, May 26, 1928, in Huntington Co., IN. He married Patricia Burns on Sunday, May 30, 1948 in Atlanta, IN. Ralph was a 1946 graduate of Warren High School. He worked from 1950-1991 at Franklin Electric, until he retired in 1991 after 41 years of service. He loved going on family trips, bowling, taking in the Salamonie Summer Festival every 4th of July, listening to music and spending time with his family. In fact family meant everything to him. Ralph enjoyed laughing and joking with everyone he met. He never met a person he didn’t like. After retirement Ralph starting working part time at Deweese’s Bike Shop, where he would repair bikes and get to shoot the breeze with the town. Ralph enjoyed meeting friends for coffee breaks all over Warren and his grandkids looked forward to going with him on occasion. He loved watching the Indianapolis 500 and attended Plum Tree United Church of Christ.
Survivors include: Wife – Patricia (Burns) Eltzroth, Warren, IN, Son – Brian (Wife, Linda Scott) E. Eltzroth, Ft. Wayne, IN, Daughter – Teresa (Husband, Tripp) Thomasson, Irmo, SC, Sister – Marie Fricke, St. Petersburg, FL, 4 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his: Father – Ora B. Eltzroth, Mother – Nettie (Day) Eltzroth, Brother – Harry E. Eltzroth, and Sister – Mary Barnes.
Family and friends may gather to share and remember at Glancy – H. Brown & Son Funeral Home 203 N Matilda St. Warren on Friday, December 30, 2016 from 3:00PM-7:00PM.
A service to celebrate Ralph’s life will be at Glancy-H. Brown & Son Funeral Home on Saturday, December 31, 2016 at 10:00 AM with Pastor Dick Case officiating. Interment will follow in the Gardens of Memory in rural Huntington County.
