Ralph Ernest Scott passed away on Wednesday, April 13, 2016, in Huntsville, AL, at 87 years old. He resided in Guntersville, AL, for the past 27 years with his beloved wife of 27 years, Evelyn Louise Scott. He was born in Marion, IN, to Mary Ann and Ollie Scott. He retired from the Navy after 20 years and from Dana after 23 years. He was a 32nd Degree Mason, and he was active in the Shriners and the Scottish Rite.

During and after his time in the service, Ralph lived in Sweetser, where he and Maxine raised their daughter, Connie. Throughout that time, they bought land outside of town for his sulky race horses. They eventually moved there and lived on “the farm” until Maxine passed. Ralph then married Evelyn Williams Luther and moved to Guntersville, AL, where they spent their golden years. Ralph and Evelyn have enjoyed many years of their family and friends vacationing in their unofficial bed and breakfast, the warm southern sun, and each other. Ralph loved his family, music, and his Alabama home. He enjoyed all types of activities such as, but not limited to, dancing, woodworking, gardening, building, fishing, camping, reading, and cooking. He was a doer, a mover, and a shaker, always busy working on a project or sketching up an idea.

He is survived by his loving wife, Evelyn; 2 daughters, Diane (Patrick) Fugate, Gas City, and Kathy (Ron) Adams, Upland; 12 grandchildren, Dorkas Ann Derry, Amy (Eric) Coffey, Evelyn Suzanne (Jason) Sherron, Amy (Lou) Hayden, Matt Fugate, Dean Comstock, Neoma (Bracy) Halker, Tavio Gutierrez, Troy Adams, Travis (Jill) Adams, Kimberly (Ryan) Drew, and Kyleigh (Christopher) Morgan; 31 great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren. His siblings, Roy, Marvin/Buck, and Frieda Jo Ann, survive as well.

His other siblings, Charles, Jim, and Virginia, preceded him in death, as well as his wife of 33 years, Evelyn Maxine Scott; 2 daughters, Connie Harris and Alona Gutierrez; and 2 great-grandchildren.
