Ralph C. Taylor, 72, Marion, died in Marion General Hospital at 4:05 p.m. on Thursday, April 6, 2017. He was born on April 19, 1944 in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Chester and Georgie (Stones) Taylor.

After graduating from high school in Kentucky, he married his lovely bride, Barbara Vandiver, in 1972. Their lives were blessed with a son, Eddie Scott Taylor (fiancée Misty), and a granddaughter, Brittany Taylor-Kemp. Ralph is also survived by his sister, Wanda (Tony) Nelson; several nieces and nephews; and his faithful canine companions, Chavo and Sandi. His sister, Glenna (Hershall) Mullins, also preceded him in death.

Ralph was an assembly line worker with Trans Industry for eleven years until his retirement. He loved the outdoors and especially enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed collecting Native American pieces, such as eagles and wolves. He was a real sports enthusiast and followed the Chicago Cubs, Indiana Pacers, Indianapolis Colts, Kentucky Wildcats, and Cincinnati Reds. Ralph also loved motorcycles but loved nothing or no one more than his family and his granddaughter, Brittany.

The family will receive visitors from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 12, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. Services to celebrate Ralph’s life begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Ben Watkins officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park.
