Pipe Creek Township Fire Department Responds to Bunker Hill House Fire

BUNKER HILL, Ind. – On Tuesday afternoon Pipe Creek Township Fire Department responded to a house fire in Bunker Hill at 6963 S. 125 W. at approximately 1:20PM. Multiple fire trucks and crews including Grissom and Galveston departments helped the Pipe Creek Township crews gain control until the fire was fully contained at approximately 6:30PM. Fire officials deemed the house a total loss. Resident Bobby Sharp was home at the time of the fire. The other resident, Jimmy Sunday, was not present according to Chief Carl Wade. Sharp singed his hair upon escaping from the fire. He was treated at the scene by Dukes EMS. The fire rekindled Wednesday morning at 9:30AM, and as of Wednesday afternoon the house was still smoldering due to the construction of the home Wade said, and added rekindled fires are not foreign to his department. A GoFundMe page has been set up to help replace items Sharp and Sunday lost in the fire. Donations can also be made at the Peru Amateur Circus Building at 154 N.Broadway in Peru.
