Phyllis J. Schell, 82, formerly of Peru passed away at 7:30 PM Monday May 23, 2016 at her daughters Pamela’s residence in Bowling Green, OH. She was born on August 12, 1933 in Hannibal, MO the daughter of Jesse and Goldia Epker Failor. Phyllis married Jack E. Schell in Quincy, IL on September 11, 1954 and he preceded her in death on July 16, 2002. Phyllis was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and Gamma Nu Epsilon Sorority. She was a retired United Technology employee. Phyllis was a 1952 graduate of Hannibal High School, Hannibal, MO. She is survived by a son Harold E. Schell and his wife Lisa of Peru, IN and a daughter Pamela Diegel and her husband William of Bowling Green, OH; grandchildren Jeremiah Diegel and his wife Heather, Christopher Diegel and his wife Rachel, Austin Schell, Kim Fisher, Bayleigh Schell ,Billy Wilder and his wife Asta; great-grandchildren Jacob, Kiera, Merin, Rowyn, Emma, Ethan, Jack, Alana, Liam, Aila and Arijus; brothers Kenneth Failor, Salt Lake City, UT and Francis Failor, Marshall, MO. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack and one sister and two brothers. A service celebrating the life of Phyllis J. Schell will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday May 28, 2016 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN with Phyllis’s grandson Pastor Jeremiah Diegel officiating. Family and friends will gather from 5:00-8:00 PM, on Friday May 27, 2016 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made through the funeral home to The American Cancer Society or the American Heart Association.
