Paul Henry Jacob, 90, formerly of Indianapolis, died on Thursday, September 15, 2016 at his residence in the Bay Lake Retirement Community of Virginia Beach, VA. He was born on March 2, 1926, in Marion, Indiana, to the late William Alva and Sarah (Keen) Jacob. He was a 1943 graduate of Marion High School, and received his law degree from Indiana University School of Law in 1949. Paul married Patricia Hunt on May 14, 1950, and she preceded him in death on September 1, 2005. He married his second wife, Mary Hardy Jacob, in 2006, and she preceded him in death on September 25, 2011.

Paul had worked for several years as an Insurance Executive for USF&G Company from which he retired as manager of the Chicago branch. He was a member of Cornerstone Lutheran Church in Carmel.

Paul enjoyed music, and in his younger years, sang in barbershop groups. He also sang in church choir groups. He liked to play tournament bridge, especially with his family. Paul was a dedicated husband, and selflessly chose to retire early to care for his ailing wife. He was a faithful man, devoted to his family as a loving husband and father. Successful in his career, he was even more successful in his commitment to his family and to his Lord.

Paul is survived by his sons; Jeffrey A. Jacob of Denver, CO and Bradley P. (Jeannette “J.J.”) Jacob of Virginia Beach, VA, step children; Linda Treber (David) Smith of Huntertown, IN, Karen Treber Mroczek of Noblesville, IN and Janet Treber Brenner of Marion, grandchildren; Gary Jacob, Beth Anne Jacob, Ruth Jacob, David Jacob, Paul Jacob, Joshua Jacob, Benjamin Jacob, and Sarah Jacob, brother in law; Clifford (Linda) Hunt of Kokomo, IN, as well as several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, first wife; Patricia Jacob, and second wife; Mary Jacob, Paul was preceded in death by two brothers and three sisters.

A graveside service to honor Paul’s life will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Grant Memorial Park, 1606 W. 26th St., Marion, IN, with Pastor Luther Brunette officiating.

Memorials in Paul’s name may be directed to Cornerstone Lutheran Church, 4850 E. Main St. Carmel, IN, 46033.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Needham Storey Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, Marion, IN.
