Paul Edward Wright, 87, LaFontaine, went to be with the Lord in his home at 12 a.m. on Saturday, May 13, 2017. He was born in New Castle to the late Fred and Eva (Knecht) Wright. Paul married his first wife, Joyce, on September 11, 1948, and she preceded him in death on October 11, 1986. He then married Maxine Monroe on June 28, 1991, and she passed away on February 11, 2016.

Paul was a graduate of New Castle High School. He worked in retail (shoes and clothing) for 42 years, specifically tailoring suits. Customer service was his passion. If a suit was not right to him, he fixed it. Paul attended Grace Community Church in Marion.

He was a very independent man who liked to do things himself, but he was the kind of man who always took care of others. Paul was also quite the handyman and a history buff. He enjoyed cooking in recent years, and he also enjoyed traveling.

Survivors include his children, Joy (Tom) Newby, Daytona Beach, Florida, Steve (Cindy) Wright, Old Saybrook, Connecticut, John (Julie) Wright, Noblesville, and Kimberly (Rex) Timmons, Alexandria, Kentucky; grandchildren, Stacey (Jason) Konazeski, Derek (Olivia) Wright, Sara (Brandon) Mitchell, Michael (Kayla) Wright, Chad (Caitie) Timmons, and Ashley Timmons; 9 great-grandchildren; step-daughter, Sharon (Bill) Evers, Noblesville; step-son, Wallace Dale (Kary) Monroe, Roanoke; 5 step-grandchildren; 32 step-great-grandchildren; 6 step-great-great-grandchildren; and two beloved nephews, Bob Moschel, Maryland, and Ken Grubbs, Hobart.

In addition to his parents and loving wives, he was preceded in death by his sister, Sarah Madison, and brother, George Wright.

The family will receive visitors from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion. Additional visitation will be two hours prior to the service, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., on Thursday, May 18, 2017.

Paul’s funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, May 18, 2017, at the funeral home with Chaplain Mark Bardsley officiating. Entombment will follow at Gardens of Memory.
