Paul E. Maggard, Jr., 64, passed away on Saturday, August 12, 2017, at Marion General Hospital. Paul was born to Paul E. Maggard, Sr. and the late Joyce (Cavins) Maggard in Harlan, Kentucky on November 24, 1952. He attended Madison-Grant High School. He then became a minister, which he loved doing. Paul met Betty Jones, whom he loved dearly. They were heading down to Kentucky this weekend to get married before he passed away unexpectedly. Paul was a wonderful man who enjoyed reading the Bible and listening to and watching other ministers preach. He loved to travel and visit his family in Kentucky. He always loved to be around his family and friends.
Paul is survived by his fiancée, Betty Jones, Marion; father, Paul Maggard, Fairmount; 2 daughters, Loretta Jefferies and Stephanie Jones, both of Marion, IN; 2 brothers, Bill (Rhonda) Maggard, Swayzee, IN, and Tim Maggard, Fairmount, IN; 2 sisters, Angela Hatton, Fairmount, IN, and Sabrina (Jack) Johnson, AL; 5 grandsons, 1 great-granddaughter, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Joyce Maggard, wife, Martha Maggard, daughter, Jennifer Gibson, and granddaughter, Brittany Gibson.
Arrangements for Paul have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services Fairmount Chapel, 415 S. Main St., Fairmount, Indiana, where a visitation will be held on Tuesday, August 15, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Robert Scott officiating.
