Paul Bud “Rammy” Hines

Paul Bud “Rammy” Hines passed away on January 25, 2017 at Life Care Center of Rochester.

He was born in Peru to Emery and Katie (Gustin) Hines on July 28, 1931.  He married Rose (Aspinwall) Hines on October 15, 1949 at St. Charles church.

Paul is survived by three children: Michael Hines (Quincy, IL), Rebecca Hines Loe (Peru), and Steven (Jeralyn) Hines (Rochester).  Also, grandchildren: Brent Hines (Warren, In), Josh Loe (Ft. Wayne, In), Casey Brown, Kylee Fenstermaker, and Caleb Fenstermaker.  Also, great-grandchildren: Karman Brown, Alysson Brown, Cayman Brown, and Cayson Brown.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Rose (Aspinwall) Hines; his parents Emery and Katie (Gustin) Hines; brothers John Hines, Earl Hines, and Lennard Hines; sisters Betty Hoover and Marjorie Snyder; and grandson Scott Hines.

Paul was retired from the Peru Utilities, after 37 years.  He started as a lineman and worked his way up as line superintendent.  He was a member of the Peru Maennerchor, the Moose lodge, the Elks lodge, the VFW, the Eagles lodge, and the Fraternal Order of Police.  He loved working in his woodshop building something.

Visitation will be held from 9am to 11am on Tuesday, January 31, 2017 at Flowers-Leedy Funeral Home, 105 West Third Street, Peru.  Funeral service will follow at 11am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Great Lakes Hospice or the Peru Maennerchor Scholarship Fund.
