Patty L. Howard Whybrew 88, a lifelong resident of Upland, Indiana, died Wednesday, August 30, 2017, at the University Nursing Center in Upland. Patty was born in Jefferson Township September 25, 1928, to the late Stephen and Dorothy (Futrell) Howard. She was a 1947 graduate of Jefferson Township High School.

Patty was a telephone operator for Indiana Bell Telephone Company for 23 years, from 1956-1979. She married Joseph Whybrew on April 27, 1996, at Upland Friends Church and he preceded her in death. A member of the Upland Friends Church, she was active in the United Society of Friends Women. She was a member of the Kokomo Chapter of the Telephone Pioneers of America.

Survivors include sister-in-law, Janet Howard, Hartford City, Indiana, several nieces and nephews, step-children, Jewel (Sergio) Pereira, Whiting, Indiana Rebecca (Felix) Delgardo, Phoenix, AZ David (Ruth) Whybrew, Upland, Indiana and Paul (Susie) Whybrew, Fortville, Indiana

She was preceded in death by a sister; Kathleen Price and brothers, John, Everett, and James Howard.

Funeral arrangements for Patty have been entrusted to Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services, Jones-Smith Chapel, 259 N. Main St., Upland, IN Visitation will be Tuesday September 5, 2017 from 12:00 – 2:00 PM at the funeral home with her funeral service immediately following at 2:00 PM with Chaplain Ron Forsythe officiating, interment will be in the Grant Memorial Park Cemetery, Marion, IN
