Patricia Maxwell Bell passed peacefully on May 8th just as she would have wanted, at her cherished Lake George cottage with her beloved puppy, Lorelei, at her side. Pat was born on St. Patrick’s Day in Plainfield, NJ in 1929. She worked her entire career, 37 years, for United Airlines before retiring in 1988, when she found her true love in life and married Norman Bell. Pat’s great loves were Norm, Lake George and her family and many special friends. She was a devoted Aunt Patsy to her niece and nephew and delighted in being GranPat to Andrew. Lake George has been her home since 1948. She was always very active in the Inland Cat Sailing Association since its inception, 60 years ago, as well as numerous other lake activities. The Annual Lake George Luminaries are directly the result of Pat’s original idea and extensive efforts.

Pat was predeceased by her husband, Norm Bell in 2006, her parents William H. Maxwell and Marcia Gauvey Kauff, and her nephew, William J. Maxwell. She is survived by her brother, William S. Maxwell (Ileen), her niece Lisa Maxwell-Frieden (Kris) and the six Frieden children, step-children Greg Bell (Cathy), Kathleen Skinner, and her son, Andrew (Rachael).

Pat’s last many months at the cottage were made possible by her devoted caregiver, Jeanne Martin, and Norm’s niece, Janie Larimore and her daughter Audrey. We are eternally grateful for the love and care and comfort they made possible for Pat.

Services will be on June 2nd at the Chapel of the Lakes, 2955 W. Orland Road, Angola, IN with a gathering of friends at 10:00 am and the service at 11:00 am. There will be a private burial at the family plot in Ney, Ohio.
