Pasqual E. Guillermo, Sr., 94, Marion, went home at 11:17 a.m. on Saturday, June 10, 2017, to be with his wife, Bertha, and our Heavenly Father while at home with his family and friends.

Pasqual was born on July 17, 1922, in Millett, Texas, to Jose and Asencion E. Guillermo, but he led a six-family generation in Marion, Indiana, for over 50 years. He retired from Wabash Melting, known today as Real Alloy. Pasqual also served in the Army and, on June 7, 2017, was presented the Award for Certificate of Appreciation for his service during World War II.

He was a great family man with a lot of loyalty and respect for himself and others. He enjoyed entertaining family and friends at his home and during gatherings. Pasqual always enjoyed planting vegetables and flowers in his garden. He really enjoyed taking flowers to his wife and continued to do so even after her death. He was also known for giving everyone nicknames like Cubano, Pata de Palo, Gorda, La Guerrquilla, La Patona, La Prieta, La Chata, and La Vecina. Pasqual knew how to make himself understood to his grandkids, even though they didn’t understand the Spanish language.

He will be sadly missed by sisters, Juanita (Jesus) Garcia, Hammond, and Inez Guillermo, South Holland; brother, Julio (Manuela) Guillermo, Schererville; daughters, Antonia (Deonicio) Pena, Marion, Maira Louisa Llanas, San Juan, Texas, Rosalinda Gomez, Longville, Texas, Maria Ester (Maximo) Perez, Longville, Yolanda Hawkins, Marion, Josie (Angel) Montemayor, Marion; daughter-in-law, Mrs. Joann Guillermo; 63 grandkids; 141 great-grandkids; 67 great-great-grandkids; one great-great-great-grandkid; and lots of nieces, nephews, and other family and friends.
