Norma J. Weismantel, 90, Marion, died at 11:11 p.m. on Thursday, May 5, 2016, at Colonial Oaks Health and Rehab Center, Marion. She was born in Kokomo, IN, to the late Erie Oran and Ann (Doak) Coffman. She married Max Weismantel in 1943, and he preceded her in death on March 6, 2016.

Norma was a graduate of Kokomo High School. She worked for over 20 years as a Teletype Operator and Sales Add Proofer for the Chronicle-Tribune before retirement. She was a member of First Christian Church in Gas City, Optimists Club, American Business Women’s Association, and Shriner’s Women’s Group. Norma was also a 50 year member of Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority. She loved travelling extensively with her husband Max and playing card and games. Norma also liked crocheting, especially Christmas ornaments and baby booties for children.

Loved ones Norma leaves behind are her daughter, Eddy (Ed) Dailey, Gas City; son, Brent Weismantel, Anderson; grandchildren, Erik Dailey, Emily Soft, Jennifer Davis, and Joe Weismantel; and great-grandchildren, Blake Dailey, E.J. Soft, Konnar Soft, Aubree Soft, and Lily Davis.

In addition to her parents and beloved husband, Max, Norma was preceded in death by her step-father, Roscoe Beeler.

Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Norma’s life will be at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 11, 2016, at First Christian Church with Pastor Dave Shepard officiating. Entombment will follow at Grant Memorial Park in Marion.
