Norma Eileen Sigler, 94, formerly of Swayzee, passed away at 6:15 a.m. on November 5, 2016, at Mason Health and Rehab in Warsaw. She was born in Miami County to the late Burvie John and Emily Lucille (Gordon) Stout on August 22, 1922.
She was a 1940 graduate of Somerset High School and lived most of her life in the Swayzee and Converse areas. Eileen worked in insurance for 50 years: Allen Kling Insurance Agency, Ed Canaday Insurance Agency, and Norris Insurance Agency before she retired. She married Harold J. Sigler on September 24, 1955, and, together, owned and operated Sigler’s IGA in Swayzee and Sigler’s Finer Foods in Converse. She was a member of Converse Church of Christ.
Eileen is survived by her children, Rebecca (Ron) Boyer, Leesburg, and John (Ann) Sigler, Greentown; five grandchildren, Jeff (Jodie) Boyer, Leesburg; Jen (Traever) Wieland, Fort Wayne; Tonya (Kevin) Bunch, Mitchell; Jake Sigler, Greentown; and Zack Sigler, Paducah, Kentucky; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold; brother, Keith Stout; and son, Tim Sigler.
Visitation will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Thursday, November 10, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Rybolt Chapel, 314 N. Washington St., Swayzee.
Eileen’s funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Jeff Boyer officiating. Burial will follow in Mississinewa Memorial Cemetery, Wabash.
