Norma E. Hyde

Norma E. Hyde, 95, of Peru passed away at 2:10 Am, Sunday. November 19, 2017 at the Blair Ridge Health Campus. She was born in Tipton, IN on October 9, 1922 the daughter of Ernest and Emma Rydell Pavey. Norma married Norman F. Hyde at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Peru on December 10, 1946 and he preceded her in death on July 23, 1999.

Norma was a member of the St. John’s Lutheran Church and a homemaker. She and her daughter Sandy owned and operated Sandy’s Café on North Broadway in Peru from 1974-1984. Norma enjoyed painting and was a wonderful cook. Thoughtful and nurturing, she was a good, generous and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend who will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by sons Lance Hyde and his wife Peggy of Westfield, IN and Phillip Hyde and his wife Tatia of Peru, daughters Sandra Morehead of Peru, Lisa Brindle of Murfreesboro, TN and Susan Rogers and her husband Mike of Peru, a son-in-law Virgil “Joe” Black of Peru, sixteen grandchildren, 29 great grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren.

Norma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman, a daughter Marsha Black, a grandson Cole Hyde, a brother Derrill Pavey, sisters Helen Louise Eckerty and Donna Wernz. And sons in law Jack Morehead and Edward Brindle, Jr.

Visitation will be after 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 25, 2017 at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home, 84 W. Main Street, Peru, IN. There will be a Memorial Service at 1:30 PM, at the Eikenberry-Eddy Funeral Home with Pastor J. Robert Clark officiating.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made through the funeral home to the Miami County Birthright of Peru, IN.
