Nicole C. Niemietz, 20, Marion, died suddenly at 4:28 p.m. on Thursday, November 3, 2016, in Marion General Hospital. She was born in Indianapolis to Bruce L. and Carole Ann (Schaub) Niemietz.

Nicole was a member of St. Paul Catholic Parish her entire life and served as a teacher’s aide at the parish from 2009-2011. She was an avid car enthusiast and her 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado won “Best in Class” at the 2016 Ducktail Run. It was her first ever car entry in a show. She was in the process of restoring a 1979 Camaro. Nicole enjoyed days past and often dressed in 1940s, ‘50s, and ‘60s fashion. She also loved orchids, photography, and music from many eras, with her favorite bands being Big Star, Tora Tora, L.A. Guns, The Cars, and Alice in Chains.

She was a talented artist and loved to draw. Nicole had a very caring heart, could do anything she tried, and was very wise. She will be missed dearly by many, especially her parents and sisters.

Survivors include her sisters, Carole K. Niemietz and Cassandra F. Niemietz, both from Marion; parents, Bruce (Carole Ann) Niemietz; maternal grandparents, Clarence J. (Sue) Schaub; aunt, Ann (Chuck Evans) Niemietz, Marion; uncles, John (Nancy) Niemietz, Wisconsin, Mark Niemietz, California, and Stephen (Cindy) Schaub, Carmel; great-aunt, Shiela (John) McCormack, Texas; special cousin and friend, Adrian Garcia, Marion; plus many more cousins and friends, as well as her dog, Butch.

Preceding Nicole in death were her grandparents, Alexandra York, Constance Niemietz, and Leo Niemietz.

Family and friends may call from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, November 9, 2016, at St. Paul Catholic Church, 1009 Kem Rd., Marion.

Funeral Mass will begin at 12:30 p.m. at the church with Father Richard Weisenberger officiating. Burial will follow at Van Buren Cemetery.
