Myron Jay Tomlinson, Sr., 65, Phoenix, Arizona, died at 1:02 a.m. on Monday, October 17, 2016, in Indiana. He was born in Marion, Indiana, to the late Wright and Ruth (Kelley) Tomlinson. He married Reji Erickson on November 30, 1996, and she survives.

Myron was a 1969 graduate of Mississinewa High School. He began working at Hoosier Metal in Gas City and, during that time, was mentored in aerospace engineering. Myron then moved to Arizona and was employed with Honeywell (formerly AlliedSignal and Garrett Air Research) for several years. He later purchased and became Owner/President of Datum Inspection Services until his retirement in 2016.

Myron was a very quiet, caring, and intelligent Christian man with a dry sense of humor. He treasured the time he spent with his family and friends. He had obtained his pilot’s license and, in his leisure time, enjoyed boating, camping, and riding horses.

Survivors include Reji, his wife of nearly 20 years; children, Sonya (Scott) Bajer, Flagstaff, Arizona, Myron “Jay” (Gena) Tomlinson, Jr., Buckeye, Arizona, Craig Tomlinson, Phoenix, Nina (Jonathan) Peters, Phoenix, and Elise Contreras, Denver, Colorado; grandchildren, Katie and Austin Bajer, Skylar, Mariah, Hailey, Skyler, Kade, and Codie Tomlinson, and Judah Peters; 1 great-grandson, Jaymes; sister, Kay (Mike) Chenoweth, Gas City; sister-in-law, Jerry Sue Tomlinson, Tavares, Florida; and former spouse, Penny Partin, Phoenix.

In addition to his parents, preceding Myron in death were his brother, Ken Tomlinson, and sister, Beth Tomlinson.

A memorial visitation will be from 10:30-11:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN. A memorial service will begin at 11:30 a.m. with Pastor Mick Simpkins officiating.
