Music

Music To My EarsThink About It. Music. After enjoying Jim Brickman concert at the Honeywell, I was reminded how important music is to my life. Most every morning a song, musician or group comes to mind. After the Morning Jam on 1059 The Bash I’ll look it up on a music site (Spotify, YouTube and other sources have almost everything ever recorded.)  After choosing something I like, I often select arrangements by other artists, then other songs by that artist followed by others’ interpretations of music performed by him/her/them. It’s an important part and the background for almost every day. As we know art comes in a variety of forms.  You may especially enjoy painting, sculpture or dance.  All contribute to our feeling that we’re more than going through life doing what has to be done to survive, paying the bills and meeting the needs of the day.

I think we all enjoy a little of all in one way or another.  But music is portable.  It can surround you with the sounds that give you the most support all day. Choose your favorite, Classical, Current Pop, Hip Hop, the many shades of Country, Blues or Jazz.  Music soothes, inspires or calls to action as you choose. It can be your background for living or permit you to participate.

If you’re willing to try new things, it might even surprise. This was a surprise to some.  The seemingly agelessly popular Tony Bennett with the currently outrageous Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga?  Did you notice that Tony toasted her with Pepsi before her super Super Bowl performance. Go to YouTube. This might be a program starter.  If you really want to make your day, do it with Music. Think About It.
