Murle “Dee” Stanley Holloway, 84, Carmel, went to be with the Lord at 5 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Magnolia Springs Bridgewater in Carmel. He was born in Fairmount to the late Orville Raymond and Laurel Bell (Converse) Holloway. He married Damaris Vardaman on March 2, 1955, and she survives.

Dee was a U.S. Army and Korean War veteran. He worked in salvage repair at Fisher Body for 26 ½ years and previously at RCA for 12 years. Dee loved the Lord, and he was a member of Eastview Wesleyan Church, where he was also a member of Best Years Fellowship and a past Board member, Trustee, and Usher.

Dee also loved people and they loved him in return. He enjoyed traveling, riding his motorcycle, watching golf on TV, and driving his golf cart around Gas City. He was a fan of a variety of cars, an avid fire arms enthusiast, as well as an avid NBA and basketball fan. Also noteworthy is that he was a classmate of James Dean.

In addition to his wife, Damaris, of 61 years, Dee is survived by his daughters, Deana (Scott) Horine and Dena (Jonathan) Wilson, both from Noblesville; 3 grandchildren, Carissa (Frankie) Fehsenfeld, Ryan (Porshia) Horine, and Riis Wilson; 4 great-grandchildren, Andrew Fehsenfeld, Callie Fehsenfeld, Tate Fehsenfeld, and Mikaela Fehsenfeld; 3 nephews, Robert Vardaman, David Vardaman, and Tom Vardaman; and 1 niece, Paula Luttrell.

Family and friends may call from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 16, 2016, at Eastview Wesleyan Church, 414 N. 10th St., Gas City, IN.

Services to celebrate Dee’s life are at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 17, 2016, at the church with Pastor Norman Wilson and Pastor Mark Atkinson officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery, Fairmount.

Arrangements are entrusted to Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, Storey Chapel, 400 E. Main St., Gas City, IN.
