Mildred P. Wagoner, 93, Warren, met her Lord and Savior at 9:25 p.m. on Friday, April 22, 2016, at Heritage Pointe, Warren. She was born in Fairmount, IN, to the late Verlie and Lora (Jones) Couch. On January 19, 1947, Mildred married Clarence D. Wagoner, Jr., and they shared 66 years together until he went to be with the Lord on July 13, 2013.

Mildred was a graduate of Jefferson High School in Upland. She worked with Marion Community Schools as a Teacher’s Aide for several years. She was a member of Union Chapel Baptist in Marion. She was also a Girl Scout leader and an avid Marion Giants basketball fan.

Being a homemaker was also very important to Mildred. She thoroughly enjoyed cooking and made the best noodles that were loved by everybody! Family and friends will always remember Mildred for having such a loving and kind heart and for being a great mom and role model to her kids, grandkids, and great-grandkids. They were her biggest interest and have countless memories that will be cherished and held close to their hearts the rest of their lives.

Loved ones Mildred leaves behind are her children, Ronald Wagoner, Marion, Judi (Lee) Sanders, Indianapolis, Terry (Gwendolyn) Wagoner, Avon, and Susan (Tony) Theurer, Marion; grandchildren, J.L. (Mandy) Wampner, Jina (Scott) Jesse, Melissa (Max) Rector, Kimberly (Jon) Reed, Brady Theurer, Brittney (Chris) Sheward, and Jeremiah Theurer; 15 great-grandchildren; and brother, Max Couch, Anderson.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Clarence D. Wagoner, Jr.; granddaughter, Heather Wagoner; and sister, Irene Workman.

Family and friends may call from 1-3 p.m. on Tuesday, April 26, 2016, at Heritage Pointe Chapel, 801 Huntington Ave., Warren, IN.

Services to celebrate Mildred’s life will begin at 3 p.m. with Rev. Mark Sanders of Center Chapel UMC officiating. Burial will follow at Grant Memorial Park, Marion.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Heather Wagoner Scholarship Fund, c/o Olivet Nazarene University, One University Ave., Bourbonnais, IL 60194-2345.
