Michael E. Bruce

Michael E. Bruce, 58 of Huntington passed away on Monday, April 4, 2016 at his residence. Michael was a 1976 graduate of Huntington North High School. He served in the United States Marines from 1979 – 1982. He had worked at Majestic Corporation in Huntington until its closure and had worked in the construction field for many years. He was a member of the American Legion Post 85 and was a member of their Honor Guard. He was an avid Green Bay Packers and NASCAR Fan. He loved his grandkids and kids in general and his dog, Wizard.

Michael was born on February 26, 1958 in Huntington, the son of Ethan and Shirley (Teusch) Bruce.

Survivors include two sons: Matthew Bruce of Elwood; Phillip Bruce of Maine; a daughter: Tammy Gibbons of Riverside, CA; eight brothers: Melvin (Marilyn) Bruce of Westfield, Clayton Bruce of DeQueen, AK; Paul Bruce of New Haven; Joe (Janice) Bruce of Huntington; Donnie (Michelle) Bruce of Huntington; Tim (Jamie) Bruce of Fort Wayne; Keith (Erika) Bruce of Huntington; Morris (Rachel) Bruce of Roanoke; two sisters: Michelle (Tom) Kelly of Wheeling, IL; Donna (Mark) Scott of Marion and five grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents: Ethan and Shirley Bruce, two sisters: Carmen Bruce and Vivian Wood and a brother: Phillip Bruce.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 10, 2016 from 2:00 pm – 7:00 pm at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel.

Funeral service will be held on Monday, April 11, 2016 at 11:00 am with one hour of visitation prior to the service at the Myers Funeral Home Huntington Chapel with his brother Paul D. Bruce officiating.

Interment will be held at Mt. Hope Cemetery.
