Maxine Monroe-Wright, 85, LaFontaine, died at 12:55 a.m. on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at Norwood Health and Rehab Center, after a battle with Alzheimers. She was born in Jamestown, TN to the late Dennis and Maggie (Abbott) Crouch. She married Paul Wright on June 28, 1991, and he survives.

Maxine was a homemaker and a great cook. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, quilting, embroidery, crocheting, and collecting dolls. Family and Church were very important to her. Maxine sang in the church choir, and served as a Sunday School teacher. She had been a member at Lincolnville UMC and Hanfield UMC, and more recently attended Grace Community Church.

Maxine was survived by her husband Paul; children, Sharon (Bill) Evers, Noblesville, and Wallace Dale (Kary) Monroe, Roanoke; grandchildren, Joshua Monroe, Katherine Monroe, John Bryan (Stephanie) McLimans, Heather Marie (Jason) French, and Kristen Anne McLimans; 32 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; 3 sisters; and step-children, John (Julie) Wright, Noblesville, Steve (Cindy) Wright, Toledo, OH, Joy (Tom) Newby, Daytona, FL, and Kim (Rex) Timmons, Alexandria, KY.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her first husband, Harry Wallace Monroe, and nine siblings.

Friends and family may call from 5-8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 15, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN.

Funeral services will be at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, February 16, 2016, at the funeral home with Pastor Phillip Troxell officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Marion.
