Maxine M. (Ducy) Snyder

Maxine M. (Ducy) Snyder, 94, Marion, died at 5:25 p.m. on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, in the Wesleyan Health and Rehabilitation Center, Marion.

Maxine was born in Mier, Indiana, to the late Wilbur and Goldie (Irwin) Pattison. In 1943, she married Don Ducy, her husband of 47 years, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 1989. She then married Donald J.F. Snyder on January 8, 2000, and he died on November 29, 2010.

She retired from Foster Forbes and was a member of Grace Community Church. Maxine dearly loved her family and was well known for her homemade noodles.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley (Larry) Chapman, Marion; granddaughters, Julie (Pat) Keenan, Gas City, and Tracey (Keith) Holmes, Marion; great-granddaughter, Andrea (Mike) Schunn, Bloomington; great-grandson, Ethan (Carol) Norris, Hartford City; step-daughters, Karen (Steve) Lewark, Lafayette, and Shirley (John) Robinson, Marion; step-granddaughters, Jeanne (Ken) Hara, Japan, Angela (Kevin) Regnault, Marion, and Kelli (Scott) Hawkins, Lafayette; step-grandson, Steven Lewark, Lafayette; sister, Mary (Jerry) Beck, Marion; 6 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Maxine was preceded in death by her sisters, Annis Stevens and Betty Jacobs;

brothers, Raymond Pattison, Frank Pattison, Hubert and Herbert Pattison (twins), Max Pattison (Maxine’s twin), Charles Pattison, and Phillip Pattison; grandson, Scott Harris; and great-granddaughter, Danielle Stalling.

The family will receive visitors from 9-11 a.m. on Friday, June 24, 2016, at Needham-Storey-Wampner Funeral Service, North Chapel, 1341 N. Baldwin Ave., Marion, IN. The service will begin at 11 a.m. with Pastor Tom Mansbarger officiating. Burial will follow at Gardens of Memory, Huntington County, IN.
