Maxine L. (Baird) Eastes, 83, was called home to heaven on the morning of May 26, 2016 in Marion, Indiana, surrounded by her loving family.

Maxine was born in Marion, Indiana on March 26, 1933 to the late James Baird and late Nellie Baird-Hoss.  She graduated from Sweetser High School in 1951.  She retired from RCA in 1995 after 43 years of service as an inspector.  Maxine attended the former Swayzee Street United Methodist Church in Marion, Indiana.

Maxine married her husband of 64 years, Robert W. Eastes on January 21, 1951 in Marion, Indiana.  He preceded her in death on October 6, 2015.

Maxine enjoyed reading, taking pictures, playing games, especially Euchre, collecting coins and stamps, and spending summers at Dewart Lake boating.  She also enjoyed baking and made a delicious butterscotch pie.  Maxine was great at remembering birthdays and always made sure she sent birthday cards in the mail.

Maxine is survived by her daughter, Deborah Enyeart, Marion, IN; 2 grandsons, Kevin Ruley, Marion, IN, and Robert (Nicole) Ruley, Indianapolis, IN; 3 great-grandchildren, ShayLinn Ruley, Fowlerton, IN, Justin Ruley, Marion, IN, and Jensen Ruley, Indianapolis, IN; 2 step-granddaughters, Sada Parsons and Stephanie Irwin, both of Oklahoma; 4 step-great-greatchildren, Alex, Samantha, Nikki, and John; 2 sisters, Roma (Bill) Lewis, Marion, IN, and Penney (Ed) Abel, OH; 2 sister-in-laws, Geraldine (Bob) Hillyer, Marion, IN, and Sheryl Wilcoxin, Hartford City, IN; 2 brothers, Keith (Debbie) Hoss, FL, and Jerry (Jackie) Hoss, Marion, IN, and she was a dear aunt to numerous nieces and nephews.

Maxine is preceded in death by both of her parents, James and Nellie, her husband Robert, a daughter, Joanna Lynn, son-in-law, C. Steven Enyeart, sister, Helen Smith, brother-in-law, Smitty Smith, and brother, Bill Hoss.

The College Park Chapel of Armes-Hunt Funeral Home and Cremation Services has been entrusted with the arrangements for Maxine.  A visitation has been set for Tuesday, May 31, 2016 at the College Park Chapel, 4601 S. Western Ave., Marion, Indiana 46953, from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm.  A funeral service honoring Maxine’s life will be at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, after the visitation with Pastor Russ Smith officiating.  Burial will be at Gardens of Memory immediately following the funeral service.
